When you use Knoah, we collect information you provide directly: your email address when signing up, company name, and documents you upload to the knowledge base. We also collect usage data including queries made, features used, and interaction patterns to improve our service.
We use your information to provide and maintain the Knoah service, process your documents for AI-powered search, send transactional emails (sign-in links, notifications), improve our product, and communicate important updates about the service.
Documents you upload are processed to generate text embeddings for search. Your documents are scoped to your company and are never shared with other customers. We use third-party AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI) for answer generation and embedding. Your data is sent to these providers only to fulfill your queries and is not used to train their models.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security policies ensuring company-level data isolation. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We follow industry standard practices to protect your information.
We use the following third-party services: Supabase (authentication and database), Anthropic (AI answer generation), OpenAI (text embeddings), Stripe (payment processing), and Resend (transactional email). Each provider has their own privacy policy governing their use of data.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account or a document, the data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Query logs are retained for analytics for 90 days after account deletion.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can export your data or request complete account deletion by contacting us. For California residents, we comply with CCPA requirements.
We use essential cookies for authentication session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Third-party analytics, if used, are configured to respect Do Not Track preferences.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by email or through the service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
